The Michael A. Tye Leadership Award is presented annually by Fenway Health to honor Michael’s memory and in recognition and honor of innovative leadership on behalf of Fenway Community Health and the people we serve.

This award recognizes living individuals who have made exceptional contributions on behalf of Fenway Health, whose efforts have built a stronger institution, better services, greater awareness, and/or deeper understanding and support for Fenway’s mission and the people for whom it cares. As a result of their efforts, the causes of LGBTQIA+ and community health, and the greater good, have been advanced in tangible ways.

This award may be bestowed on staff as well as volunteers. Criteria like sexual orientation, religion, gender, nationality, or age have no impact whatsoever on the selection process. Previous honorees have included Harbor to the Bay, Mayor Tom Menino, An Hinds, Harry Collings, Stewart Clifford, Jr., Joanne Ayoub, Sheriff Andrea Cabral, Arnold Sapenter, Allison Salke and State Street Corporation.

A committee consisting of members of the Board of Directors, the CEO, the VP of Resource Development and Donor Engagement and past recipients of the Michael A.
